Movember Recap
Getting Hairy for Men's Health
It was a wild and woolly November at GM Voices. That’s because we participated in Movember, a month-long moustache growing event to raise awareness and funding for men’s health issues like prostate cancer.
All in all, we boasted 25 committed Mo Bros and Mo Sistas and raised almost $1,000 for cancer research and survivorship programs. It was itchy and awkward, but well worth it.
At the end of the month, we held our first annual GM Voices Movember ‘Stashy Awards, honoring our best-in-class moustaches (and the fellas who grew them).
Check out our blog for a full scrapbook of the furry festivities.
City of Refuge Christmas in the City
GM Voices Gives to Its Official Holiday Charity

“It is a time, of all others, when Want is keenly felt, and Abundance rejoices.”
For several years, GM Voices has supported Atlanta’s City of Refuge, a non-profit organization offering life-saving resources and life-building tools to individuals and families in Atlanta who are living in the margin.
City of Refuge’s “Christmas in the City” initiative seeks to provide a Christmas experience to over 800 kids from the Atlanta community. For a gift of only $40, you can provide the joys of food, carols, games and gifts to a child in a need. This year, GM Voices raised over $1,000 to support this wonderful program.
In 2012, GM Voices will be making a volunteering trip into Atlanta to support City of Refuge. Stay tuned for pictures and video of that experience.

Talent Spotlight: Brigitte
French Canadian for Any Project
If you're deploying a large IVR application in North America, it's now almost essential that you offer callers a French Canadian voice option in addition to English and Neutral Spanish. For this newsletter, we spotlight Brigitte, one of our French Canadian voice actors offered in our weekly sessions.
Brigitte has extensive experience as a professional voice talent for major corporations worldwide and for smaller local businesses, even for the United Nations.
She excels in narration, dubbing and lip-synching, and lends her voice to all kinds of promotional, industrial, instructional and educational videos, TV and radio spots, Web commercials, video games and cartoons, and, of course, IVR systems and telephony applications.
With a master’s degree in French literature, she first worked as a professor of literature and theatre. These were her first steps towards “performing.”
With a strong knowledge of linguistics and phonetics, and a warm outgoing personality, she started a new career in the voice-over business when she moved to New York City.
Since then, she honed her skills by working on a large variety of projects, from the driest, most technical or scientific scripts to the warmest, most smiley or witty TV or radio commercials.
