GM Voices Wins A Sharkie!
GM Voices Wins 2009 Sharkie Award for Best Video Presentation
GM Voices, a leader in producing pre-recorded voices for telephone and technology applications, won a Sharkie Award for best presentation in the 2009 Sharkie Awards Competition. Out of 7 categories, GM Voices bubbled to the top in the Open Category. The winners were announced in early March in the annual “Sharkie” Awards event recognizing the best in on-demand presentations.
“The GM Voices “How to Download via FTP” presentation was created in Flash and uploaded to Brainshark as a video slide,” explained Pat Kelly of Brainshark, Director- Customer Success & Professional Services. “The video presentation is a great example of teaching “how to” in using a technical process. The timing is great, the voice narration is very well scripted and delivered.. They also bring a lot of humor into the mix, in the form of a guy wearing a chicken suit in the recording studio!”
GM Voices’ primary business is producing pre-recorded voice prompts for telephone and technology applications. You hear their voices when calling Dell, AT&T, Aetna, Chase, Wells Fargo and other Fortune 1000 companies. You also hear their voices in automotive navigation systems. In addition, the company produces creative multimedia Brainshark presentations to help their clients sell more.
“We script and produce creative problem/solution Brainshark presentations for our client’s sales organizations with voice actors playing the roles of customers,” shared GM Voices Founder and CEO Marcus Graham. “We help their sales people in the trenches make better sales presentation and close more deals.”
The “How to Download via FTP” Brainshark presentation guides callers through the process of downloading the studio produced voice prompts created by GM Voices electronically via the Internet. “We take a lot of phone calls from customers seeking direction on how to download the files,” said Director of Creative Services Robert Feldman. “We wanted to let the customer attempt a “self-service” solution via this online presentation. We include a link to this presentation when we notify clients that their audio files are ready to download. A lot of customers are now able get their files without contacting our staff. The chicken was just an added slice of fun!”
Brainshark customers, partners and content network members produced over 95,000 presentations in 2008. All were eligible for an award. Over 100 entries were submitted in 7 categories. Each category had its own group of judges that evaluated the presentations. Judges were looking for presentations that exemplified the best practices of being clear, concise, consistent and compelling. Bonus points were provided for using additional features such as attachments, questions and background audio. The judges were looking for the ones that delivered on the promise of bringing value to the viewers.
